I was leased to Clark Transfer in Harrisburg, PA until I got tired of their crap. The sad part is that they are probably not any worse than any other trucking company out there. Part of the problem is the “leased operator” concept. You’re trapped by one company with all of the restrictions of a company driver and none of the freedoms of an owner operator. You’re a company driver with a truck payment.

This is great for the companies and some companies take more advantage of it than others. Some treat their owner operators as partners in their business, while others only exploit them to make money for the company and have no regard for the owners as experienced truck drivers or even truck owners.
